ARIS secured a stunning 2-1 away victory over Tripolis and with a man less from the 40th minute.
The start of the game saw both sides adopt a cautious approach with Aris attacking down both flanks through Sakata and Castillo. It would be Asteras however who came closest to scoring first through a Martins header only to be denied by a superb goal-line clearance from Ronaldo. In the 35th though Orothko did open the scoring for the hosts, with a powerful header to put Asteras Tripolis ahead. In the 40th minute things would get worse for ARIS as Castillo received his marching orders for striking Bastia off the ball.
The very next moment would be key in the match as Bartolini pulled down Koke in the area and the referee awarded a penalty. The captain of Aris converted from the spot in the 43rd minute to make it 1-1 and the score remained the same as both sides went in at half time. The second half saw Asteras trying to make their numerical advantage count and ARIS manager Tsiolis countered by adding Portiga to the midfield in place of Tsezarek.
In the 65th minute Portiga executed a perfect free-kick and Lazaridis scored from close range to make it 2-1. In the next minute Bartolini pushed Kaznaferis off the ball, but Mr Constantineas refused to award the offending player with a second yellow. In the 77th minute Kaznaferis went through one-on-one with Degra but for linesman Panou to blow for offside. In the 85th minute Franko was sent off for a second bookable offence after diving in the Aris area. In the 88th minute the referee conjured up a penalty from nowhere for Astera Tripolis but Juanma saved smartly from Bastia. It was a superb away victory for Aris and the 3 points mean than Aris fans can still dream of the play-offs and beyond.
